Madhur all praise for Priyanka’s performance in ‘Fashion’

Madhur Bhandarkar is very happy with Priyanka Chopra’s work in “Fashion”, which is due for release Oct 29. She has “connected with emotions” in the film, he says complimenting her.

In the film, Priyanka plays a Chandigarh girl aspiring to be a super-model.

“Priyanka has connected with emotions in ‘Fashion’, that she has never shown on screen before. And she’s a perfectionist,” Madhur told IANS.

Madhur is also a much-relieved man today. His worry that the release of “Fashion” could be delayed due to hitches have been put at rest.

First Priyanka had a very bad throat because of which she had to cancel the dubbing of “Fashion”. And then the film industry workers’ strike put further time pressure on Madhur’s precious film.

“Our release is Oct 29, that’s Wednesday, so we got a long Diwali weekend for our film. There’s no way we could cancel. However, the workers’ strike brought everything to a grinding halt,” he said.

The strike was called off Friday after a meeting between the workers and the producers’ association.

Priyanka’s bad throat started with all the screaming she did for Vishal Bhardwaj’s “Kaminey”.

Priyanka meets up with modelling friends for ‘Fashion’

Working in Madhur Bhandarkar’s forthcoming film “Fashion” was a walk down memory lane for Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra.
“If you remember, I started my professional life as a model. And now while doing ‘Fashion’, I met up with my friends from my modelling days… Noyonika Chatterjee, Jesse Randhawa, Aanchal Kumar… That was the best part of doing ‘Fashion’,” Priyanka told IANS.
“When I was modelling I was 17. So it’s like a whole era has passed between then and now,” said the actor, who was seen in a ‘futuristic’ look in her latest release “Love Story 2050″.
But she adds that she isn’t that experienced as a model.
“I modelled for only three months … between the Miss India and Miss World pageants. But yeah it was fun. I was a wide-eyed excited child then. Yes, I’m using my experiences as a model to play my character in ‘Fashion’,” said the former Miss World.
Priyanka’s character in the film undergoes a tremendous metamorphosis.
“And I’ve gone through that metamorphosis myself. Like my character, I was a small-town girl finding my way through the modelling world when I came to Mumbai. A lot of it is derived from my own experiences.”
The actress says shooting for films and modelling are completely different.
“My modelling friends complain about how patient they need to be between shots, whereas during modelling all you had to do was just go for it (the ramp).”
